Angels among us Sometimes a total stranger can have an impact on you that you’ve never thought was possible.  It can be as simple as a smile when you’re sad or as totally unexpected as money when you desperately need it.   When this happens it is often dismissed as a kind gesture rather than a message.  There are messages all around but we don’t always pay as much attention to them as we should.  When something needs to be really heard it will come through in an unexpected way to you.  Imagine for a moment that you’re at the lowest point in your life and you’re ready to give up on everything.  You’re sitting on a bench at the park trying to figure out how you got to where you are.  Suddenly a complete stranger sits down besides you and says hi.  You mumble hello back but are annoyed this person even started talking to you.  The stranger continues his conversation with you and suddenly you listen even though you don’t know why.   “...

Meditation is extremely important to our daily lives As individuals it often becomes necessary for us to take a moment when we are frustrated, angry, feeling lost, or otherwise at our wits end.   During that moment we often close our eyes and take a deep breath to calm ourselves.  This is a form of meditation that we do without thinking to bring ourselves to a calm place and refocus our attention on the task at hand. Having a daily practice of meditation can go a long way to centering your mind and bringing awareness to the moment.  Meditation is not about becoming a different person in any manner.  It is a about training in awareness and getting a healthy sense of perspective.  It is about learning to observe your thoughts and feelings in the moment without judgement so that eventually you can better understand them. Shanti - peace and tranquility

Recently I have had an internal turmoil building that has left me depressed and confused.  I have spent a lot of time meditating and searching for answers as to why I have felt this way.  Due to the turmoil I haven't slept very well and I have been struggling with staying asleep once I do finally fall asleep.  All of these thing have added to my feelings of inadequacy and have really started to wear on me.   Yesterday at work I had the opportunity to talk to someone briefly who just made me feel happy because of her wonderful aura but by the end of the day all I wanted to do was go home and cry into my pillow.  I know I need to break out of this feeling and it is difficult to say the least but I am working on it.   So this morning I got up and did some yoga and then got ready for work after a 20 minute meditation.  During my meditation I kept hearing a word whispered to me in a deep voice and it stayed in my mind while I continued to ge...
