Everything happens for a reason - especially the unexpected
Recently I was at the Chiropractor getting and adjustment when a lady in the next room had a seizure. Apparently she gets them all the time and they are non-life threatening but as an empath (who was not expecting that at all) I found that it was quite painful. The woman had just gone into the room and laid down on the table when a seizure hit her pretty hard. Her father went rushing into the room to ensure she didn't hurt herself by falling off the table or biting her tongue. I found it quite difficult to relax as I was in the next room and felt the sudden onset of the seizure.
The woman's seizures cause her entire body to tense up and pull her spine out of alignment. I din't ask any questions but I did ask my chiropractor (who had just stepped into my room) to go work with her instead because I could wait. The seizure went on for more than 10 minutes and my chiropractor seemed frustrated at not being able to help her eliminate them. My chiropractor came back in my room and started to work on me but by now I was feeling the pain from the woman next door and the helplessness of my chiropractor. I was able to block the pain and relax my own body for my adjustment. Afterwards I talked to my chiropractor (who is a young woman) and asked her if I could help in any way. I told her I was willing to at least talk to the woman and try to get her to focus and calm down enough for her seizure to pass. Her father overheard my plea to help and called for me to come into the room. I pulled up a chair and put my hands on the woman's head while talking to her softly. I asked her to listen to my voice and focus on it. I talked to her for 10 minutes during which time the energy I gave her was loving and calming. I prayed that her seizure stopped and that she felt no more pain from it.
My chiropractor was at the door and some of her office aides were standing there as well but I hadn't been focused on them only the woman. The woman listened to my voice and started to relax and her body calmed down. I continued to talk and provide her with healing love while she relaxed. I felt my entire body relax as the woman drifted into a state of pure calm. Her father asked if she had fallen asleep and she said no but she was visualizing what I said to her. She said she was sitting on a park bench near a lake while watching ducks pay in the water and her dog was with her and she was petting him gentle. She continued to describe the view she had in her mind - it was a warm day, there was a gentle breeze and she was happy. As she told her father what she saw her seizure completely stopped. I continued for a few more minutes then asked her if she was going to be okay now. She opened her eyes and there were tears as she smiled and said thank you. I smiled at her and told her that all she needed to do was focus on that place and relax her body to let the seizures pass quicker. She thanked me again and her father grabbed me and hugged me. He said no one has ever been that kind to his daughter and he was very thankful.
I stepped out of the room and went to the counter to check-out with my chiropractor right next to me. She asked how I did that and I told her I just showed her a place filled with love and that I knew it would help her. I suggested that they may want to find a place to help the woman on a regular basis with meditation and reiki. I am unsure that reiki can fully solve the woman's seizures but I do know that I wasn't alone in helping her. I felt the power of Archangel Raphael with me and felt many hands on me as the calming and healing energy flowed through me to this woman. My intent wasn't to actually give her reiki but rather to help her find a calm way to relax. I don't really know why I did it either as I do understand it could have been dangerous for us both. What I can honestly say though is that I had to try - it was like I couldn't walk away without trying if she and her father were open to it. Since they were both open I was able to provide some comfort for them both rather than just walk away feeling the pain the woman was going through. I am thankful that I was able to help but I am more thankful that I didn't feel alone. Archangel Raphael was there and he is quite a powerful healer. I felt drained when I left the chiropractor which was very unusual for me but I knew it had to do with the experience I had just had. What I didn't feel as I left was the pain of the seizure and I am beyond thankful for that. I can only hope and pray that the woman finds a way to help herself deal with the seizures better.
