Education is awesome! It can awaken your mind and activate your heart.
Education is awesome! Yes, I said it and quite honestly I mean it more than most people will ever fully understand. I believe in understanding my own mind so that I can understand other people better - what they think, how they think, why they think. It sounds a little crazy but I really do enjoy trying to understand why people do things or act a certain way. I decided to undertake 2019 as an educational journey of enlightenment for myself. I started some really hard courses and then disaster struck at my home and I was forced to live in a hotel for a few months. I am a true believer that everything happens for a reason so I decided to refocus on the courses I had signed up for and see where it took me. Not only did it open and expand my mind but it also awakened a part of my heart that I had forgotten about since I was a child. I love to learn new things and I love to understand why things are the way they are. I had forgotten that along the way of becoming an adult, raising kids, having a full-time job, etc. There were glimpses of my love of learning over the years but life had become so busy that I had forgotten how to just sit and learn - not for a degree, not because I had to for my job but simply because I wanted to.
So far the year 2019 has been an awakening year for me. My entire being has been yearning to learn and grow on many levels. I decided to "go with the flow" in January after having a meditation that gave me a vision of achieving many certifications and opening my own business while becoming happier than I had ever been before. Since then I have actively been pursuing educational opportunities and becoming associated with affiliations to become marketable in the business world. I am quite happy that I have taken 30 courses that have opened my eyes and senses to different modalities of healing but the 27 certifications and diploma will really make you understand the intense work I have put into the first few months of the year. I am on a mission to better myself and thus better others and the world. It is what my 2019 has become - a journey of educational experiences.
After being in my hotel room for a few days I started to go stir crazy so I decided to look through the courses that I had registered for over the years and see if I could get my mind off the disaster at my home. I was having a difficult time meditating in the hotel so I thought that staying busy would help me - it did more than that though. I became focused on learning about different healing modalities. I already had my Reiki Master Teacher but it didn't feel like enough to me. I decided to learn about other Reiki types since I already had achieved my Master Teacher for Usui Reiki. So far I have learned Karuna Ki Master, Kundalini, Quantum, Grand Master levels 1 through 20, Crystal Reiki Master/Teacher, and Grief Reiki certification. I have also become a member of the International Reiki Organization. Learning all that about Reiki still didn't satisfy me though so I turned to understand more and learn more about meditation, coaching and more energy healing modalities. Mindfulness meditation has always worked best for me personally so I focused on that and took an intensive course that was created and instructed by The Academy Of Modern Applied Psychology. It was a fantastic course and I am now a certified Mindfulness Practitioner. However, as I was taking that course I realized that it aligned with some other courses I had started for becoming a life coach so I had to finish them as well. I am still working on my NLP courses. NLP stands for Neuro-Linguistic Programming. It is essentially a way to understand the language of your mind.
Now nearly 8 weeks of being displaced from my home, I have earned a few certifications that will help me as I progress more towards whatever the future holds for me. I have become a bit more confident in how I do things, can once again meditate anywhere and have insight into why people (myself included) think the way we do about certain things. Still it seems like an awful lot, right? Not really - at least not for me. I am a person that loves (absolutely loves) to learn new things. Sometimes it is new things about someone and sometimes it is new things to help someone but it is always something new to learn. I believe in keeping my mind active and I trust that I am learning all of this for a reason with a purpose to help others. But most importantly - I have truly made my heart and soul happy with learning again. After all, to live is to learn and to learn is to become more for yourself and others.
