Why I do what I do... and how it has brought me peace and comfort through changes

Outside my normal 9 to 5 job - I do other things that some people find unusual.  Not that long ago one of my dear friends finally realized just how spiritual I was.   I keep most personal things pretty close to my chest but I do open up to others.  Over the past 10 years or so I have become more passionate about my spirituality including the gifts that were bestowed upon me.   I don't always talk about them but my gifts are a huge part of who I am.   A few years ago I came upon a young woman who needed guidance and I was given a message to give her which turned into a coaching relationship that I have treasured.  She is doing so much better now and we continue to stay in contact.  The next person that I encountered who I just knew needed help and guidance has been more of a challenge - but addiction and grief will do that.   We continue to work on things but holidays, anniversary dates, birthdays - they all bring up many memories.  Regardless we focus on the positives and continue to move slowly forward with faith, hope, love, peace, patience, and trust.
What is a Life Coach and why do you do it?  Two questions that I am often asked and I actually have a fairly simple answer for them - well I think it is a simple answer.

In your words, what is a Life Coach?

Life Coaching is very different from consulting, mentoring, advice, therapy, or counseling. The coaching process addresses specific personal projects, business successes, general conditions and transitions in the client's personal life, relationships or profession by examining what is going on right now, discovering what your obstacles or challenges might be, and choosing a course of action to make your life be what you want it to be.  Life Coaching is a designed alliance between coach and client where the coaching relationship continually gives all the power back to you, the client.  You, the client, are the only expert in your entire life who truly knows who you are and what you need. You are the only expert who can recognize what is absolutely best for you. Life coaches are simply experts in the coaching process.  Life coaching helps you learn how to make choices that create an effective, balanced and fulfilling life.   Accountability – probably the biggest part of the coaching process.   You as the client are accountable to yourself but also to your coach.  By working with your life coach there are goals set with timelines that you are accountable to work towards.   A life coach will help you discover what your own personal "best" might be.  The bottom line answer – Life Coaching will help you break your bad habits and patterns in life that are holding you back from creating the life you really want to live.

Why do you do Life coaching?
I have always enjoyed helping others and I am a good listener (something I have heard for years).  That being said I am a bit different from most Life Coaches.  I am sure that people say that all the time but I firmly believe I am a tad bit different than most Life Coaches you will find because, well, I also am a Reiki Master and talk to spirits (those that have passed and Angels).   My sessions with clients are not normal Life Coaching sessions – they also include a bit of healing.  Reiki works on your spiritual, emotional, mental and physical bodies while also opening and balancing your chakras.  Reiki will always leave you feeling calm and relaxed and will help you feel more clarity when making decisions.  Talking to spirits (Mediumship) does not always happen during a session – let me be clear on that.  However, there have been occasions that I get a message that the client needs to hear and I have found ways to work the message into the session.   The reward for me is watching someone change their life and become happier and more satisfied with where their life is going.  I firmly believe it is my life purpose – to help others.  I use my intuitive abilities to guide our work, I teach you how to better use your own intuition to guide your decisions, and I do all this while showing compassionate, loving care for your well-being.

There are many modules to coaching such as – confidence, happiness, life purpose, professional, transformation, and spiritual.  Coaching can be done 1-on-1 or in a group setting.  Most coaching is not done in person but when I am doing individual coaching I enjoy the human interaction and truly believe that the client gets more out of it that way.   Some coaches have a small room where you sit and just talk things out.  I am different in that aspect as well.  I will go for a walk in nature and talk to you if I think that is how it will benefit you more.  I may provide a cup of coffee and talk about the weather if that is how you want to start.  I may provide you with an Angel Card Reading if that is your desire.   I modify each coaching session based on the client and their needs, moods, desires, whatever makes the client most comfortable.  I do have a group coaching session setup as well but even my clients prefer the individualized sessions more.

So why do I do what I do?  Because it makes me happy - and I get to watch people enjoy little accomplishments as they move towards true happiness.   To me it is about the little things - living in the moment and enjoying what life has to offer - smelling the flowers - etc.
